DIAGNOSIS
The criteria for diagnosis of normotensive
glaucoma, as provided by
Moorfields Hospital are:
• typical glaucomatous optic nerve
damage with cupping and loss of
neural retinal rim,
• progression of damage,
• an open anterior angle on
gonioscopy,
• a mean intra-ocular pressure of less
than 22 mmHg and no measurement
greater than 24 mmHg,
• and an absence of a secondary
cause.
