Once again heavy rainy season floods have hit the Upper North. While several local reservoirs are near capacity, the major dams can still take in vast amounts of water. As of this morning, Thaiwater.net reports that the Bhumibol Dam in Tak holds only about seven percent of its useable capacity while the Sirikit Dam in Uttaradit is only at 24 percent. That is good news for those of us living downstream, but it is of little comfort to those living in the flooded areas. Here are the latest details:
