A mixture of Blue and Red LEDs is most commonly used because
their peak wavelengths at approximately 460 nm and 660 nm,
respectively, closely coincide with the maximum absorptions for
chlorophylls a and b, resulting in optimal photosynthetic efficiency. An appropriate mixture of Blue and Red LEDs, compared with monochromatic light.is more effective for photosynthesis and photomorphogenesis in in vitro-grown plants such
as Dendrobium sp..Doritaenopsis sp..Lilium sp..and Phalaenopsis sp..Therefore, our study examined the responses of encapsulated
strawberry shoot tips under red and blue LEDs. Specifically, mixtures of 90% red and 10% blue, 70% red and 30% blue, 50% red and
50% blue, 30% red and 70% blue, and fluorescent lamps were used
for in vitro growth and further in vitro and ex vitro development of
encapsulated strawberry shoottips in different growing substrates.
