The repeatability of injections was tested, in order to control the
stability of the chromatographic system during the analysis, by
injecting 0.5 lg/ml standards solutions ten times, under the
chromatographic conditions described above. In the present study,
the retention times (tR) and detector responses precision were
determined over one-day (repeatability), and 5-day periods
(within-lab reproducibility). Replicated (n = 10) samples were all
run and the RSD (%) values were calculated as the measures of
precision. As seen in Table 2, satisfactory results were obtained
with relative standard deviations (RSDs%) of retention times and
peak areas always being lower than 0.53% and 2.52%, respectively,
demonstrating excellent repeatability and reproducibility of the
chromatographic separation. The results demonstrated that the
chromatographic system was suitable and repeatable for the analysis
of the specific Alternaria mycotoxins.
