In two cases, gastrointestinal infection was accompanied by pneumonia. Furthermore, in one of them (Z.A.) infection occurred with thrombocytopenia. The girl (2.5-year-old) was treated from the day preceding admission to the hospital due to pneumonia. Additionally, she complained of vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal pain. On the second day after the onset of symptoms, USG showed pneumatosis intestinalis, which was confirmed by CT scan of the abdomen. In the ultrasound examinations gradual withdrawal of the changes were reported. In the stool culture, strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Citrobacter freundii were grown. The patient was treated with antibiotic therapy and parenteral hydration.
