To recover FA from the insoluble calcium fumarate, fermented broth was heated at 90 °C with
simultaneous acidification (5 N, H2SO4) until clear. Finally, the broth was centrifuged (8000×g,
10 min), and the supernatant containing the FA was collected and analyzed spectrophotometrically
