The data were analyzed by using SPSS Statistics version 17.
Descriptive statistics were used to organize and present the respondents'
demographic profile. The objective of this paper is to
identify successful technological factors that have a positive impact
on the effectiveness of the waste management system based on
human aspects. Pearson's chi-square model fit tests were performed
to screen the variables, i.e., the technologies needed for
each process of MSWM. For the preliminary screening, two-by-two
tests of association between the current use of technology in
MSWM and specific technologies used in each MSWM process
were administered. With the 422 usable samples, in order to ensure
that the data are analyzed effectively, some questionnaire items
were eliminated by employing an explorative factor analysis
(Principal Factor AnalysisdPromax Kaiser Normalization Rotation
method) to determine the technological challenges facing MSWM
in Bangkok based on human aspects [24]. In terms of the influence
of technology on MSWM, three groups of factors were analyzed:
technology for cost reduction, technology for social improvement,
and technology for sustainability. A Likert type five-point scale was
used for the answers.
