5.1. Organic part sorting
Firstly, the objective is to separate organic and mineral fractions in order to be recovered: mineral part as rubble in
class III landfill centre and organic part as a component of Solid Recovered Fuel. Empirical tests led, at the beginning of the GISEMENT project (described bellowed), have shown that this is mainly composed of wood and polystyrene. The objective is to increase low heating value of this fraction which is one of the main parameter to evaluate Solid Recovered Fuel quality. The second objective is related to chlorine and mercury values [9].
