conveyors, lightweight truss sections are used that permit longer spans between supporting legs, and economical structural cost. A decking is provided to allow return run of the belt which also lends lateral rigidity to the structure. For long centre conveyors, sidewalk ways are provided for inspection and adjustment to idlers. The structures are often covered by tin plate at the top and sides to protect the materials being conveyed under the sky outside the plant. Fig. 6.1.11 shows photographs of two long centre conveyors with their covered structures, side walks etc.
