Wang and Blaschek (2011) reported that glucose and fructose
were consumed earlier than sucrose when C. beijerinckii was grown
in a mixture of glucose, fructose and sucrose and in the end of the
fermentation; only 50% of the sucrose was utilized while 70% of the
glucose and fructose were consumed. They also found that
C. beijerinckii capable to degrade sucrose but the monosaccharides
glucose and fructose were more preferable for biobutanol production
