In this study, six purified phenolics showed significant
inhibition effect on the lipid peroxidation (Table 2). The
highest inhibition capacity of lipid peroxidation was
observed for geraniin (IC50 65.7 lM), followed by iscorilagin
(IC50 68.4 lM), while Kaempferol 3-b-D-glucopyranoside
exhibited the lowest inhibition capacity (IC50
202.1 lM). The IC50 values of DPPH radical scavenging
activity was correlated well with the inhibition capacity
of lipid peroxidation (correlation coefficient = 0.8713, data
not shown). This result was consistent with the report of
Rekka and Kourounakis (1991).
