Also, in further studies, it would be of interest to investigate
the molecular mechanisms in the activation of the local inflammation
in the rumen epithelium during SARA, and also, to elucidate
the role that local inflammation might play on the on the activation
of systemic inflammation. Moreover, because the inherent metabolic
capacity of the rumen epithelium was shown to play a role
on the susceptibility and severity of SARA and endotoxin response
in the rumen, multidisciplinary research should consider elucidation
of the underlying nutrigenomics basis, which can be used to
develop better SARA-resistant genotypes and respective feeding
strategies to prevent SARA in its related activation of the inflammation.
