the last few years. For this reason it could play a remarkable role for
the forensic investigations community because it can carry latent
fingermarks. A large number of publications suggest various
techniques to develop these marks over the porous surfaces in
general [1] or, specifically, over thermal paper [2]. These methods
suffer with several drawbacks such as complex and cumbersome
procedure, pre- or post-treatment, background coloration and
efficiency to develop aged fingermarks. The dark coloration
represents the most remarkable drawback since it does not allow
the inspection of the forensic evidences and it may hide useful
