Sulfonation Reactors
IIT designs and manufactures Multitube Falling Film Reactors with unique features.
The Gas Feeding Device, supplied only by IIT:
efficiently removes oleum condensate
uniformly distributes the gas to all the reaction tubes
The Reagents Distribution Device is a Compact Cartridge that can be disassembled from the reactor body, without need of removing the reaction tubes, allowing:
Fast and easy cleaning during reactor washing
Simple and easy repair in case of damage and without need of replacing the reaction tubes
Possible replacement with spare items
The Permanently Calibrated Organic Distribution Plates
never require calibration, not even for the first startup
The Protection Device, included in the reagents distribution cartridge, allows to:
feed Barrier Air to protect the Organic Distribution Device from charring during the steady state operation
recirculate organic to the reactor during the plant preheating to:
avoid the need of a Sulfuric Acid Tower to absorb the SO3 during the plant start-up
reduce the production of off-spec Acid during the plant start-up and shut-down
The Reactor Body is a shell and tube type heat exchanger
The Reaction Tubes, that don’t need to be removed, are welded to the tube sheets, so avoiding the risk of water leaks into the product.
The Contactor grants an intimate gas-liquid contact to better absorb the SO3
