Indonesia reactivates its OPEC membership
According to media reports, Indonesia’s Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Sudirman Said reported that they rejoined the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) on Monday.
Indonesia had suspended its membership in early 2009 when the country turned into a net oil importer due to stronger domestic demand and record high crude oil prices. Through the reactivation of its membership, Indonesia aims to improve its ties with other oil exporting countries.
