Figs. 10 and 11 show that the amount of increase in the rate of
net photosynthesis under elevated total pressure was less than that
under the increased partial pressure of CO2. In this case, the effect of
the amount of dissolved CO2 in a chloroplast on the rate of net photosynthesis
was small, because the partial pressure of CO2 in each
experiment was equal. The reason for this trend should be that stomatal
conductance (gs) decreased with increasing total pressure, as
shown in Eqs. (2)–(8). Figs. 10 and 11 show that the difference in the
rate of photosynthesis under the high absolute humidity is larger
than that under the low absolute humidity at the partial pressure
