presentedwiththeabilitytoaccommodatethedetectingsubstrateinthesamplecompartmentof
commercial spectrometers.Twoalternativesarehereconsideredformercury(II)detection,namelystop-
flowandcontinuous flow injectionanalysismodes.Thebestlimitofdetection(2.4ngmL1) was
obtained withthecontinuous flowinjectionanalysisapproach.Theaccuratedeterminationofmercury
(II) ionsinsamplesofunknowncompositionisdemonstratedwithafortified tapwatersample
