Film strips
(10.0×2.0 cm) from each formulation were cut and clamped
between the tensile grips. Film strips placed between pneumatic
grips were stretched at a cross head speed of 5.0 mm/s, with
an initial distance between the gripsmaintained at 100 mm. All
the measurements were recorded at at 25±1 °C. TS was
calculated by dividing the maximum force at break by the
cross-sectional area of the film (expressed in Mpa), while EB
was calculated based on the length extended and the original
length of the films. Measurements were made in replicates of
five. Prior to the experiment the film strips were preconditioned
at 25±1 °C at 52% RH for 48 h.
