There are so many ways to enjoy volleyball as part of your daily routine. The easiest way is to play with family or friends. Volleyball courts aren’t very large and can be great backyard additions. You can also use a court available at a local beach, park or recreational center.
Every environment creates a different flow of the game. It can be fun to play indoors and outdoors on a variety of different surfaces. Playing on the beach or in a pool adds a new dynamic to the sport and will drastically change the speed of the game. If you don’t want to play a full game, you can practice different shots or techniques with your friends. It may also be fun to play with unlimited touches per team (rather than just three per volley).
If you’re unable to gain access to a court or net, you can practice without one. It can be fun to simply volley the ball back and forth with friends or family. You can practice different ways of hitting the ball as well as the duration of your volleying time. If you have access to a court, but don’t have a friend to play with, you can practice your serving. Try serving at different speeds to different parts of the court. This can be a great way to gain accuracy and power during a game!
