2.4. Microbiological analyses
Preparation of the samples was carried out according to ISIRI (2007).
Aerobic plate counts were determined by the spread plate method on Plate Count Agar (30 C for 24e48 h).
Probable Number method was carried out for coliform bacteria count.
Lauryl Tryptose Broth was used as a medium and confirmation test was made in Brilliant Green Bile 2 g/100 g (37 C for 24e48 h).
Most Probable Number method and Lauryl Sulfate broth as medium were used for E. coli counts.
Confirmation test was made in Peptone Water and EC broth according.
Yeast and moulds were enumerated with Potato Dextrose Agar (25 C for 5 days).
Salmonella spp. was determined using Salamonella and Shigella Agar (37 C, 72 h) (ISIRI,2007).
All mediums were purchased from Merck KGaA (Darmstadt,Germany).
