Seed set was observed in crosses involving J. curcas as the female parent while the reciprocal cross failed.Out of 112 pollinations, 62 seeds were obtained of which fifty three seedlings could be grown to maturity (Table 1). Pollen germination was 100% in J. curcas x J. integerrima cross and 96.8% in the reciprocal cross. In the reciprocal cross, pollen germination was associated with formation of callose plugs and the pollen tubes failed to reach the end of the style.Pollination of J. integerrima following excision of stigma at different lengths was unsuccessful.
