Breast
cancer screening focuses on women older than 40; the
prevalence of breast self-examination is unclear, although
it is a suggested practice for women over 30 years of age.
In Korea, there is no national cancer screening program
for those younger than 30. Nonetheless, breast cancer is
the second most frequently-occurring cancer during young
adulthood, and considering that its prevalence tends to
decrease during senescence, it is important to provide measures
for the prevention and early detection of cancer for
young adult women.
