up and downs plague the human brain. We awaken, we're groggy, we're active, we get sleepy after lunch, and then we're active again. Just after din- ner, we feel sleepy again. Our internal clock regulates our sleep, activity, and cycles, which would never be an issue except that school time requires so much attention. Students would love to take more naps during the day, but we're expected to keep them focused enough to concentrate. That's a challenge unless you have some practical and proven strategies. This chapter is about getting and keeping students active. Music and energizers are both premier tools for raising student energy.
