Abstract
The combination of online learning opportunities and interactive Web 2.0 has
provided language teachers with myriad possibilities in creating a real-world language
environment in the classroom. A video sharing website where users can upload, view
and share video clips, YouTube is one of the greatest things Web 2.0 is offering us
(Lacy 2008). This short paper reports L2 stories about YouTube in language learning.
It concludes that the students in the University of Florida took advantage of YouTube
in terms of language proficiency, out-of-class experience, specifically independence
skills, and cultural competence.
