Researchers at the Heinrich Heine University in Germany discovered that when individuals who ate chocolate were exposed to ultraviolet light over a period of six weeks, they experienced around 15% less skin reddening than the participants who did not eat chocolate.The researchers believed that the compounds found in chocolate acted as UV filters. After 12 weeks in total, the skin of those who ate chocolate was 16 percent more dense and 42 percent less scaly.Whilst on the topic of skin, you may have heard that chocolate causes acne and blemishes.
