As an example of truth by contradiction, the Veda talks of benefits accrued to a worshiper from performing certain rituals, but some of these rewards occur in a future life.•Because one has to continue to be alive in the next life in order to receive the rewards of rituals in this life, therefore Mīmāṁsāconcludes that there must be an individual soul that survives the death of a body (continuing in the next life).
