The mission for the research efforts is excellence in science to inform policy and practice. As such, research informs teaching through a number of long standing research themes including tourism policy and planning, environmental management, and parks and protected natural areas. New and emerging expertise includes research on climate change, wine and heritage tourism, and tourism in emerging destinations including the Polar Regions. These are brought together within the University’s interdisciplinary Land, Environment and People research centre (LEAP) web interface.
