This study aims to offer an example of how integrating
biology and physics can be accomplished through
hands-on engineering activities. The delivery of the
integrated learning activities was conducted by a STEM
Education and Outreach Team. The STEM Team comprises
university students who develop and deliver activities
that align with the Australian Curriculum: Science
and the Australian Curriculum: Technology (Australian
Curriculum Assessment and Reporting Authority
[ACARA] 2015) for students in the elementary and secondary
years of schooling in the areas of aviation, basic
chemistry, electromagnetism, energy and heat transfer
and robotics (e.g. English, Hudson, and Dawes 2013).
