Fig. 1 shows the optimum conditions for ethanol fermentation
by Ca-alginate and PVA immobilized Z. mobilis. For CA immobilized
cells, the optimum conditions for fermentation occurred at an initial
glucose loading of 20 g/L, which achieved the maximum ethanol
yield of 89.17% of the theoretical yield (Fig. 1a) and maximum
productivity of 2.01 g/L/h (Fig. 1b).
