My name is Deepak and I am with Data Centre Switching team in Brussels, owner of this service request to assist analyse the cause of peer-link port Eth1/48 in Down state.
As you have noticed UDLD is kicking in on switch 'R10-N3K01-DR’ indicating a Unidirectional communication between the devices across the link:
Ethernet1/48 is down (UDLD empty echo)
2010 Jul 21 09:40:06 R10-N3K01-DR %UDLD-4-UDLD_PORT_DISABLED: Interface Ethernet1/48, link error detected: empty echo.
2010 Jul 21 09:40:06 R10-N3K01-DR %ETHPORT-5-IF_DOWN_ERROR_DISABLED: Interface Ethernet1/48 is down (Error disabled. Reason:UDLD empty echo)
I would like to understand the followings:
1)
Were any changes made recently on these switches on the physical infrastructure (cabling/SFP changes, etc.)?
2)
When was this issue first identified?
3)
Why do we have only 1x link as part of peer-link?
4)
Have you already tested the Fiber and SFP’s connected between the switches?
5)
Is there a problem with other ports on the switch too?
6)
What is the business impact due to this problem?
Kindly share the following outputs from both of these N3k’s:
1. Show interface transceiver detail | no-more
2. Show hardware internal statistics device mac all | no-more
