In this study, a breakdown of the results for EI by gender, age, and teaching experience revealed no significant
differences. These findings were in line with those reported by Chan (2004) and Hopkins and Bilimoria
(2008), while in conflict with the findings of Harrod and Scheer (2005) which indicated that there were significant
differences between females and males, with females reporting higher EI levels. However, the reason for
this conflict may be related to such factors as culture and the kind of environment.
