1.Nationalism (ultra nationalism or aggressive policy by Germany, Italy, and Japan) manipulated in support of a war policy.
2.Arms race (by European nations)
3.Imperialism (the scramble for colonial territories)
4.Human nature – human tendency to misbehave. human race is irreparably flawed by original sin (Saint Augustine (354-430) – war is the price we pay for our corrupt nature).
1•Thomas Hobbes (Human Nature) – he saw human beings in the state of nature as brutes of limited intelligence (cunning and violent)
