The airlines market share revealed the rank of passengers carried by airlines for each airport regardless of type of operations. For Suvarnabhumi’s international service, Thai Airways International dominated passenger traffic of 37.4 percent share followed by Thai Air Asia of 6 percent share, Cathay Pacific of 4.6 percent share and so on. On the other hand, the majority of international passenger at Chiang Mai and Phuket was handled by international airlines, ranked first by Air Asia, second by Silk Air. For Hat Yai, Tiger Airways, the only airline offering international scheduled services, was the first rank while Iran Air came in second by operating non-scheduled routes during the Hajj.
