I think Ms. Jackson hates the lottery and the violence. She makes the story so it shows how ordinary it is in life to them. Then she shows how inhumane people can be to each other. I think that by including little kids piling up the stones, and then being part of the stoning shows how evil people can be. Then the author even has the mom's own kids stone her. The whole town acts how it is not a big deal and they need to just get it over with so they can get home in time for dinner.
I think the story reminds me of the Holocaust stories the most. I seems like people were just following orders of the town leader. They didn't really question why they were doing this stoning. They just followed orders and killed an innocent woman. It seemed like it was for no reason at all.
