The duty of this National Archives is to collect, store, preserve, exhibit and provide the public with significant materials dealing with His Majesty’s life history and royal functions and activities in different media forms such as his addresses, speeches, writings, photographs, etc. Documents and audio-visual materials relating to projects of the government agencies, state enterprises, private sector and individuals in response to His Majesty’s initiatives as well as in honour of His Majesty.
The National Archives are also responsible for recording royal and state ceremonies of great importance in both written and pictorial forms making yearly compilation of historic events and publishing official records.
Three systems, namely archival administration, archival searching, archival Digitization have been set up in dealing with archive work, that is to say : information, management, service and preservation.
