Melissa Marschke currently holds a SSHRC Standard Research Grant to investigate fisheries transitions in Asia. She has been working on small-scale fisheries in Cambodia and Vietnam for over 15 years, through both IDRC-funded projects and her current SSHRC project. She has collaborated with both Vandergeest and Bush in organizing workshops and special sessions in industry conferences examining fisheries and aquaculture issues. Her participation in this research will also contribute to her current Insight grant, adding a focus on the question of market-oriented regulation in fisheries transitions.
