Throughout the internet Ive seen many people, put down and crap all over the Bandai figure (specifically Mattel apologists).
Some of those same people were slobbering all over that same figure when it was first released, it just shows how fickle some people are in reality.
Those same people are going to be crapping all over the Mattel figure, once a new Lion-O figure is released...
I have to say that this is one of the few reviews that I have seen, where the reviewer chooses the Bandai sculpt over the Mattel one.
I remember people complaining that the Bandai Lion-O was not in scale with MOTUC, but soo what, its not supposed to be in scale with MOTUC.
Another thing in the original concept art, Lion-O's height is listed as 6'9"-- thats way taller than He-man (Lion-O is supposed to be very tall).
The Mattel one has a decent head sculpt, but everything else is wrong (body proportions, style, etc).
The Mattel one looks more like a "custom" figure, than an actual release of a Lion-O figure.
The 8" Bandai one looks like the cartoon, where as the Mattel one looks too "MOTU Alcala".
Some people side-step the fact that ThunderCats was a Toei/Japanese styled cartoon, and not based on some Alex Ross "realistic" art (which seems to be what the Mattel version is trying to mimic).
