Network issues Belgium
You will have noticed the network has been unstable for the last week.
The problem you experience is due to the fact that the IST (Inter Switch Trunk = redundancy protocol between our core switches) fails for 15 -20 seconds. This causes that all active connections are interrupted and need reconnect, this results in the inconvenience you experience.
We have been and are still monitoring the network traffic closely to find the route cause that makes the IST fail.
We have brought in our support partner to help us:
• With analyzing the logs
• configuration improvement where needed
• standby support
We also asked the assistance of a bureau that is specialized in network troubleshooting and auditing.
We managed to add more resources on the backplane of the switches (from 8 Gbps to 30 Gbps).
Right now all is stable.
Unfortunately we have not found the root cause yet and thus we cannot guarantee that it will not happen again.
We will follow up closely and use the necessary resources to solve this as soon as possible.
Our apologies for the inconvenience.
