3. Results and discussion
The data obtained during the performed experiments revealed several interesting aspects of the UF-RO process and are presented and discussed in sepal-ate sections in the following results.
3.1. Standard physical-chemical treatment of UF-RO feed
Firstly, the effluent from the physical-chemical treatment was characterised as this formed the feed for the UF-RO process. Ana-lyses of raw water and wastewater treated with physical-chemical treatment based on 21 samples are shown in Table 4 together with the limit values according to Slovene legislation. All average effluent values are below the maximal allowed values for discharge.
Table 4 reveals that the majority of the analysis parameters in the effluent do not exceed limit values for discharge. Despite large deviations in concentrations for parameters measured in the inflow, the efficiency of the physical-chemical treatment plant reached the limit values for discharge, for all contaminants. Only the maximal value for settled solids and BOD₅ in effluent exceeded limit values for discharge but on average; these values were also below the discharge limit.
