The subprime crisis has influenced every corner of the world since September 2008. It has destroyed most dominant industries such as banking, insurance,
transport and manufactures. Contrast to such industries, entertainment industries
have soared dramatically such as movies, music and games. One reason is that
most laid-offs have nothing to do and just to seek for entertainment to relieve
pressure. As for a country, the tertiary industry will play an important role in
economic development; as for individual person, the entertainment expense will
increase according to Engel’s Index.
Meanwhile, as the intellectual property rights protection is weak in some
developing countries, the phenomenon of copyright infringement is very serious.
In that case, entertainment producers’ profit cannot be guaranteed, thus they
cannot gain high return on investment.
