Questions:These questions are not exclusive but are the minimum questions you should ask to seek the answers from the companies you will visit in the trip. You can try to obtain information from their secondary data sources to support your answers to the following questions.
1. What are the motivations for their CSR? Intrinsic or instrumental, or strategic, or operational or cosmetic, or philanthropic, marketing oriented, strategic or transformational?
2. How do you understand their CSR roles according to the Carroll’s Pyramid Model – which are their priorities, do they follow the patterns from the bottom of the pyramid to the top that is philanthropic in nature.
3. What are the scopes of CSR you observed and learned in this trip?
4. What types of stakeholders are involved in their CSR projects?
5. From their opinions, are the CSR activities they do have short-term or long-term impact to the societies and the environment?
6. How the CSR efforts influence their company employees?
7. Who in the companies drive the CSR strategically and operationally (on implementation)?
8. Are the CSR projects created through so-creation with the communities or from the company?
9. Do they measure the performance of their CSR efforts and if so, what are they? And how often they track, and are they any significant improvement evidences?
10. Any ethical codes of conducts and how they communicate down and implement them?
11. Any crises in the past, and how do they respond to them, and how do they change their practices and views of CSR since then?
12. From their points of view, are the CSR efforts a purely legal compliance, or involving market needs for ethical or green products, or reaching out to the value chains such as their suppliers and process improvements, or have a transformative or innovative concept in their CSR efforts?
13. Do their CSR efforts need to adapt to the local culture, and if so, in what forms?
14. How active, in their views, is the participation of the local communities involving in their CSR efforts? Examples?
15. Do their CSR efforts a strategic part of their business strategy to help achieve company vision, and if so, can they illustrate with an explanation or example.
