Primary care professionals education, particularly nurses,
may be far from achieving the recommendation that all relevant
professional schools include education about DV. In
addition, the majority of both physicians and nurses in the
present study felt that they would benefit from additional
instructions in DV identification and intervention. This could
be explained by the increasing interest of participants working
in Kuwait for improving their knowledge that subsequently increase
their performance for ensuring the quality of care and
health provision of battered women. Also, as the majority of
the study population were females, this would explain the increased
interest of them for further education and training
regarding DV against women.
