Recently, highly ordered mesoporous silica molecular sieves have received
much attention because of their potential applications in the
fields of adsorption, separation, catalysis and environmental pollution
control (Kawi and Te, 1998; Xia et al., 2001). In this study, waste solar
panel was extracted to synthesize mesoporous silica materials and
a toluene adsorption experiment was carried out to compare the performance ofMCM-41 and S-MCM(mesoporous silica materials synthesized
from waste solar panel). Gaseous toluene was chosen as the
target compound in this study because toluene is widely used solvent
in several industries such as cosmetic and paint making. In additional,
it is common indoor air pollutant in beauty salons.
