The respiration rate (consumption rate of oxygen) ranged from 2.62 to 2.34 103 (mg kg1 s1) and 3.33 to 2.38 103
(mg kg1 s1) for samples stored in MAP and control, respectively. Similar values (3.37–2.18 103 mg kg1 s1) ranged were found by Goyette et al. (2012) when evaluating the respiration rate of tomatoes stored in chambers for 450 h at 13 C.
