The study was carried out in the experimental centre at the
Faculty of Agriculture of the Turin University, located in
Carmagnola (44°53´11.67´´N, 7°41´7.00´´E, NW Italy).
Greek oregano (OR, Origanum vulgare L. subsp. hirtum)
and two types of sage herbages Salvia offi cinalis ‘Extrakta’
(SE, Pharmaplant, Germany), and S. offi cinalis subsp. lavandulifolia
(SL) were used in this experimentation. Sage
green shoots and oregano branches were hand harvested
and collected. For each plant, phytomasses were split into
