Organizational Recently, Citizenship Behaviors la- Organ (1988a) has identified five major types of behavior that he calls “organizational citizenship ior[s] of a discretionary behaviors” nature (OCBs). According to Organ, OCBs are “behav- that are not part of employees’ formal [role] require- ments, but nevertheless p. 4). Thus, “citizenship promote the effective functioning behaviors” of the organization” (1988a, are prime examples of the kind of extra-role behavior that transformational types of citizenship leadership is believed to encourage. The following five behavior identified by Organ (1988a, in press) were included in the present l study.
