From the present investigation, I conclude that the ethanolic extract of
Mucuna pruriens 200 mg/kg body weight possesses potent aphrodisiac
activity in normal male albino mice and exerts its activity through the
activation of the cholinergic receptors. This result is the scientific
evidence in favour of the claims made in Indian Systems of Medicine
that the Mucuna pruriens is clinically useful as sexual invigorator in
males.
