An appreciation for the complexity of the innovation process can be gained by reviewing some of the many models that have been developed to help describe it, These models range from simple “pipeline” or “black box” models to more complicated models. Some models focus on consumer product innovation, others are concerned with industrial product innovation, and still others attempt to have a more universal supplication.
