3. Results and discussion
According to the presence of AFM1 in milk from different countries of Southeast Europe determined in early 2013, an extensive survey of AFM1 concentrations was conducted in raw and UHT milk samples during the 2013 winter to summer period in Croatia.
Validation of the ELISA method used for AFM1 determinations gave the validation parameters (ng/L): LOD 23.2 ng/L, LOQ 35.8, and CCβ 34.5. The recovery values determined at three levels were within the range 87.4–107.5% and the coefficients of variation between 8.7 and 17.0% (Table 1) met the requirements of Commission Regulation No 401/2006 (EC, 2006).
