Our definition of end-of-life care is still in draft. We, as faculty in a newly started program ‘‘End-of-Life
Care in Nursing’’ in Japan, explored literature and our nursing values and drafted this definition to use as a
framework for our program. To have a clear and empirically valid definition, we will continue to examine it
from a variety of perspectives. We also look forward to hear from readers of Nursing Ethics to have conversations
about end-of-life care and nursing roles
